FCS Integration Facility
(Bengaluru)

Recently, Maiwir Engineering was roped in as the ‘Design and Build Contractors’ by the Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO), India’s premier defence research institute, to build the fastest structure in India, the “Flight Control System Integration Facility”, at their Aeronautical Development Establishment, Bengaluru. The seven-storey building was designed using Maiwir Engineering’s Composite-Steel Construction Technology with the IIT Madras experts carrying the design checks and verification.

Honourable Defence Minister, Government of India, Shri Rajnath Singh, inaugurated the facility on 17th March 2022 in presence of Shri Basavraj Bommai, Honourable Chief Minister of Karnataka, where he applauded Maiwir Engineering along with other parties who contributed to building the state-of-the-art facility in record 45 days. Mr Satheesh Reddy, Chairman, DRDO, also acknowledged the synergies of every contributing party.

The facility was constructed on a total built-up area of 1,30,000 sq. ft., owing to one of the advantages of composite steel technology, the fabrication of all the 81 Columns, 406 Beams & 669 Slabs was completed in a period of 65 days. All the fabrication of the structural members was done at our factory in Telangana and was installed at the project site in just 16 days including the integration of the MEP cradles, Lift-Pods, Toilet-Pods, Monorail, Staircases & Facade.

Composite construction methodology is widely accepted worldwide as an alternative to conventional methods (pure steel and pure concrete construction). Although this method is relatively new and at a nascent stage, we believe that India is slowly progressing toward a revolutionary change in the construction industry. We are proud that we introduced this innovation in the market and shall continue to bring such changes and in every possible way contribute to nation-building.
